Brand and Trademark Policy

Brand ownership

"Fishbattery", the Fishbattery logo, the launcher name, and related brand assets are owned by Fishbattery (CVR: 46258037, Denmark).

Fishbattery is currently used as an unregistered trademark unless otherwise stated.

Brand assets are not covered by the open-source license for the launcher code. All rights in brand assets are reserved unless we provide written permission.

Trademark and name use restrictions

Without written permission, you may not use Fishbattery branding in a way that creates confusion about source, affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

This includes:
- Using "Fishbattery" (or confusingly similar names) in app names, product names, company names, domains, social handles, or package identifiers
- Using Fishbattery logos, icons, or visual identity in forks, launchers, websites, listings, ads, or commercial materials
- Framing third-party software as "official", "partnered", or "endorsed" by Fishbattery when it is not
- Registering marks, domains, or accounts that imitate or dilute Fishbattery branding

Open source license

The Fishbattery Launcher is open source and licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0).

You are free to use, modify, and redistribute the source code under the terms of that license. However, this does not grant any rights to use Fishbattery branding.

Forks and redistribution

You may create forks or modified versions of the launcher, but you must:

- Comply with the GPL-3.0 license
- Clearly state your changes
- Use your own name and branding
- Remove Fishbattery names, logos, and visual identity from redistributed versions unless you have written permission

Nominative and descriptive references

You may use the word "Fishbattery" only when reasonably necessary to factually describe compatibility, integration, or historical origin. Such references must be truthful, minimal, and must not imply endorsement.

This does not prohibit good-faith reviews, commentary, news reporting, tutorials, fan content, or other non-misleading references to Fishbattery.

This includes critical or negative reviews. If you do not like Fishbattery, you are free to post videos or other feedback about your experience.

Affiliation

Fishbattery is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Reporting trademark or brand infringement, or impersonation

To report suspected infringement, impersonation, or brand misuse, email support@fishbattery.app with:
- Your name and contact details
- The exact content, listing, domain, account, or repository you are reporting (URL or identifier)
- Why the use is infringing or misleading
- Evidence (screenshots, timestamps, and relevant context)

We may request additional information and may take actions including warnings, takedown requests to relevant platforms, access restrictions, or legal escalation where appropriate.
